There are two things I never imagined during college: (1) becoming a social scientist, and (2) spending most of the time working with R and Stata! (Ironically, the class I disliked most during my freshman year was Introduction to Programming, and at the time, I was certain coding would never be part of my life.) Coming from a science high school and majoring in chemical engineering, I always envisioned making a positive impact on the world as an engineer. However, after gaining experience at a think tank and an international organization, I realized there’s a lack of connection between natural scientists/engineers and policymakers. That’s when I decided to become someone who could bridge that gap, someone who understands both sides.

I study energy policy, focusing on the intersection of technological development and society. My research explores how policies shape innovation and how people respond to new technologies, especially in terms of their consumption behavior. I am excited to see how my research goes and contributes to these questions.

Beyond my work, I love spending quality time with the people I care about and my doggy brother whose name means "cloud" in Korean - he’s the cutest dog on earth! I also enjoy traveling to new places, especially somewhere with water - having grown up in a small town near the East Sea, I find a deep sense of peace in lakes and oceans. Oh, and I’m a (baby) aerialist and on sling and lyra.
